In brief: 24 to 48 hours

Once your child starts taking antibiotics you can return in 24 hours.
How ever if your child is febrile wait 24 hours after the fever is gone.

In brief: 24hrs of rx

Scarlet fever is no more worrisome than regular strep throat & return to school after a full 24 hrs on meds is considered adequate.
Scarlet fever is an archaic term that arose when it was a scary & lengthy febrile illness before we had penicillin. Now it simply refers to the red rash some strains will have. The newer term is scarletina.
