In brief: No Wt on it-Xray

Swelling and bruising causes the nerves to be compressed, this produces numbness along with the all the other processes of inflammation.
This should get an x-ray. The only way for this to be treated properly is to find out the extent of injury. It is always good to start with rice-rest-ice, compression, and elevation.

In brief: Have it evaluated.

If you have numbness you should have it looked at as soon as possible as that may indicate nerve trauma.
You will need to have an x-ray or other radiologic exams taken to see if you have a fracture. Fractures usually need to be immobilized with a splint, cast, or rigid walking boot depending on the location of the injury. Have your physician determine which course of treatment is best for you.
