In brief: Discuss with doc

Many fears can be addressed if you talk to your healthcare professional.
Egd ; colonoscopies are typically done only with sedation, and there is no general anesthesia. If you are really concerned, or if your md thinks you need general anesthesia, you will have an anesthesiologist there.

In brief: Worry doesn't help

Yet i understand that we all can do it.
Your doc is well trained in the procedures you mention. The fear you are coping w/is loss of control. Easier said than done, but surrendering to the process will be extremely helpful. Docs have had the same procedures. Peace and good health.
