I had the stool test and came out negative guess ok but a few weeks later in sigmdoscopy dr detected a colon polyp, why is that?

Polyps are common and often silent(no associated blood loss).
That is why colon screening is advised. He has benefited from the procedure but also needs check of his upper colon(area not reached with a sigmoidoscope).
