In brief: It will becomes DM2
Metabolic syndrome refers to a cluster of problems associated with the development of Insulin resistance, which will lead to diabetes.
Along the way, Insulin resistance causes hypertension, weight on the middle, dyslipedemia ( not high cholesterol per say), but a bad chol/hdl ratio because it lowers good cholesterol and raises triglycerides. Usually type 2 dm is the last thing to occur or be dx.

In brief: Related Problems
Metabolic syndrome is very preventable.
Excessive sugar and carbohydrate intake cause high blood sugar levels, which then make your Insulin levels rise. Over time the chronically high Insulin levels lead to Insulin resistance and you will need to make higher and higher levels of Insulin to maintain normal blood sugar levels. Eventually you will have full blown diabetes, heart disease and htn.
