Common causes of stomach irritation are such things as medicines (like nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories), nicotine, and alcohol so be sure that you are careful about such things or stop them. Reflux can cause gastritis, so consider eating 6-7 small meals throughout the day, elevate the head of your bed.
Tums (calcium carbonate) can help with symptoms as can otc acid meds. But if pain persists be sure of the diagnosis.
