I have always had irregular periods. I would go 2-3 months without having a period. Now it comes every 2 weeks since I became sexually active again. Why?

Many causes. The menstrual cycle is under numerous influences, both externally (e.g. Stress, weight changes, diet, etc...) and internally (e.g. Pituitary gland, ovaries, adrenal glands, etc...). Additionally, pathology like uterine fibroids and endometrial polyps can also intervene. Sounds like a thorough work-up is in order. Get with your ob/gyn asap.

I have irregular periods. Now it's 18 days late, not sexually active. I need to do blood test to check hormones. So can you tell me what tests should I do?

Tests for what? What are you trying to diagnose with blood tests? It would be appropriate to consult a gynecologist who may do a health assessment and decide as to what tests would be appropriate. It is not a do it yourself venture.

I have irregular periods but for 3 weeks now I've been spotting. Small cramps sometimes. And not sexually active. Why hasn't it stopped? No hospital.

Spotting. Vaginal spotting may be caused by polyps, either on the cervix or inside the uterus, by uterine fibroids, or by some infections, and occasionally some genital tract cancers. Sometimes people mistake urinary tract bleeding for vaginal spotting, which is an important distinction. You probably don't need to go to a hospital at this point, but please schedule an appointment with a gynecologist soon. Read more...
