Inattentive type is a neurodevelopmental disorder with criteria of 6/9 or > significant symptoms of inattention in 2 settings for 6 mos or >, with symptoms starting < age 7 that cause harmful dysfunction in academics/learning, peer interaction &/or behavior, often with deficits in remembering, processing, "filing, " retrieving & organizing information & executive functions (the "ceo" of the brain).

Symptoms can be inability to wait, boredom, daydreaming, frequently changing tasks. It often responds to medictaions but can be overcome with behavioral modification.
