In brief: Yes
There several antiviral medications being used mostly in the university setting for patients who test postitve for hepatitis c.
These medications show great promise in slowing the disease process and decreasing the viral load in your blood.

In brief: Effective but....
Therapy for hcv involves the use of pegylated interferon and ribavirin.
The biggest weakness with current therapies for hcv is the flu-like side effects that can be managed symptomatically. Talk to your doctor or get a referral to a hcv clinic to determine if you are suitable for therapy; you may be instructed to wait since newer, more tolerable meds for hcv therapy are coming out soon.

In brief: Yes
Treatment depends on the "type" of hepatitis c you have, or your "genotype.
" treatment for genotypes 2 and 3 include interferon + ribavirin. However, treatment for genotype 1 now includes the addition of either telaprevir or boceprevir.

In brief: Yes
Interferon injections with Ribavirin pills have been show to lead to cures for hepatitis c.
As of may 2011, two new drugs are now available for hepatitis c treatment. These drugs, boceprevir and telaprevir improve success rates for a cure, but still must be used in conjuection with interferon and ribavirin.
