In brief: Another cause

The pace of change in today's world is accelerating, and it is hard for people who were barely organized to begin with to keep up! more gadgets and devices, more channels of communication, more legal concerns, more venues for self expression and more choices in just about everything.
Good systems make it possible to bring order out of chaos. Life used to be simplerold systems may not be enough.

In brief: Disorganization

Chronic disorganization is usually due either to character (lazy, procrastinating, immature, etc.
) or a chronic mental illness affecting the brain by impairing attention, concentration, and/or planning. But most is due to a simple lifetime of bad habits, which would be entirely curable (if the person wanted to).
