So youngsters of alternate preference are declaring themselves as the risk of discrimination is far less. To the extent that homosexuality is inherited, these individuals will be less likely to adopt a heterosexual lifestyle (breeding) and the gene will diminish.

Fortunately the "extent" to which being gay is inherited is probably either very limited or universal and determining factors seem to be more dependent on the intrauterine environment prior to birth. If we were to follow Dr. Bensinger's logic then it would be difficult to make a case for how homosexuality ever occurred in the first place. Now that they're out, I doubt they're going away.
