One possibility, especially if a laparoscopic approach was taken, is that of residual CO2 gas in the pelvic/abdominal cavity that can seep into the crevices along Morrison's pouch and potentially irritate the diaphragm and phrenic nerve connections. This can, potentially, produce such symptomatology. Certainly, if symptoms persist and/or worsen, further evaluation is warranted.
