In exercise stress test my sons doctor wrote:"optimal heart rate achieved for nuclear imaging", but my son had regular exercise stress test without nuclear imaging. What does it mean?
Ask. It might be an error in reporting please confirm with the doctor.
Exercise ECG TESTING. Exercise ECG stress test can very effectively risk stratify patients with suspected coronary artery disease who have normal ekg at rest.Exercise ECG testing can evaluate patients who can exercise to a sufficient workload. If there are no abnormailities noted on the ECG with optimal heart rate, nuclear imaging may not have been done discuss with your cardiologist why stress test was done and results.
Stage 2 stress test heart rate was at 170 so stopped was to tired. Doc says may need loop recorder and get fit to improve symptoms.
More tests needed. 170 is a very accelerated heart rate at that level of stress. You may an inappropriate sinus tachycardia or another type of arrhythmia. The stress test should help sort that out. An echocardiogram and cardiology evaluation would be appropriate. Good luck. Feel better. Read more...
My stress test came back with significant shortness of breath and inadequate heart rate recovery. Are these findings normal cause doc did not followup?
Sob. You should discuss the test with your doctor and ask what the interpretation of the test is. Shortness of breath and abnormal heart rate recovery can be signficant findings even if the ecg remained normal. They can also relate to just being 'out of shape'. You doctor should be able to explain about this to you. Read more...
What do you recommend if I had 2 stress test done a exercise one and a thallium one on both my heart rate dropped wha could cause it?
Thallium? You said "thallium" but perhaps you meant adenosine or lexiscan? - these two agents are used to perform a stress test in which you don't have to exercise, thus in contrast to your first one. Both agents can cause the heart rate to drop as a side effect which has no prognostic significance. Read more...
