What are the chances of having an HIV negative baby if the mother is positive?

In brief: Good

Once pregnant, if you have become hiv+ prophylactic therapy can reduce the risk to the fetus but not eliminate it.
If mom is treated and her viral load is low there is a good chance the baby will be normal, but there are no guarantees. Mother should be seen by an infectious disease expert or other doctor with experience in HIV management.
