Is lumbar radiculopathy 4 life? Pain for weeks, ease up awhile, only to return again. No disc problem nor childbirth. What cause pain come/go?

MRI. Pressure on a nerve root by a spur or disk may not disappear, but can be treated if an MRI documents their presence. A neurosurgeon could evaluate you for epidural injections or surgery for example.
Spine specialist. If the lumbar spine looks good on mri, and the spine specialist doesn't find any neurologic problems on your physical exam, hopefully they'll check for other causes of pain shooting down the leg (lumbar radiculopathy) such as piriformis syndrome/sciatica. For just the symptoms without a clear cause, Gabapentin (neurontin) or Lyrica (pregabalin) can help a lot.
