Possibly. I've read that people who wear sun glasses most of their lives have half the risk of cataract formation, and half the risk of developing macular degeneration. I recommend sunglasses when ever you spend extended periods outdoors, especially if you have had cataract surgery.
Yes. Depends on if looking at it directly (solar retinopathy). If outdoor in the sunlight all the time without uv protection, can lead to increased cataract formation possibly pterygium.
