Hip width has a genetic component as well as as structural component.
You would basically get wider hips by adding more fat...Exercising will keep you toned and hips "slimmer". It is wisest to be happy with how you are built as your build is the best for you personally. Enhance what you have and do not try to change what is is yours naturally. :).
