In brief: Virginal/ruff contac

Skin will comfortably callous over time; too quick will cause additive tears.
Cocoanut oil several times a day +slow down. If this fails after 5 to 8 days, a thorough dermatological exam is a must. From nutrition to exotic infections & syndromes must be considered as well as as a herald of a more general malady. Pls. Don't wait.

In brief: Dryness or fungus

Feet often go through a cycle of wet/dry/wet/dry, from sweating, wearing shoes, taking shoes off, letting feet air dry, etc.
These changes can be hard on the skin and lead to cracking, flaking and thickening of the skin. Fungal infections, like athlete's foot can cause the same findings, often with itching too. Other possible causes include eczema, psoriasis, poor circulation, and others.
