Gastroesophageal reflux? Is that acid stomach?

Stomach contents. Reflux refers to the acid, fluid and sometimes partially digested food in the stomach traveling back up the esophagus. This is irritating and can be treated with elevation of the upper body (not sleeping flat), not eating late in the day or too much at once, and medications like Omeprazole (which is otc) drinking alcohol, eating spicy or acid foods may bother you as well.

Hey, does anyone know if gastroesophageal reflux causes acid taste?

Yes it can. If gerd or gastroesophageal reflux is so bad that it gets all the way up the esophagus, past both a failing valve at the bottom of the esophagus and the valve at the top of the esophagus, it can cause a "water brash" taste in the mouth, dental erosion, sinusitis, voice changes, and even lung infections like pneumonia.
