I need to know what's your experience with patients taking bupropion for anxiety or depression?

Addiction Medicine

In brief: Depression great but

Anxiety not so great.
Bupropion is an "energizing" or "activating" antidepressant, and actually can make anxiety worse, at least transiently. There is little or no evidence that bupropion reduces anxiety long-term. Other antidepressants (ssri/snri) like paxil, zoloft, celexa, lexapro, Effexor (venlafaxine) (all available as generics) are better for anxiety, as well as depression. Psychotherapy also works.
