My doctor gave me 500mg of naproxen to take for a sore throat. I also have 800mg of ibuprofen. Which is best for inflamed tonsil?

Inflammation. Both of these medications are nonsteriodal antiinflammatories. They both will work but should not be taken at the same time. Naprosyn (naproxen) is taken twice a day and Ibuprofen is taken three times a day. Which ever one you choose take it with food as it can upset your stomach. Hope you feel better.
