I am one day late on my period. This cycle I took Clomid (clomiphene) 50mg. I have gotten a negative pregnancy test. I ovulated late. Could I still be pregnant?

Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period.  if you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection.

I am on metformin and took Clomid (clomiphene) this month, my period is a week late but I have had negative pregnancy test, what should I do?

More reliable test. Many things, including some drugs, can interfere with the regularity of the menstrual cycle and 7 days is still close to the limit of acceptable variations. If you have no reason to suspect that you are pregnant, then your preg test is most likely accurate but if in doubt get a more reliable (in a lab) pregnancy test. Read more...

I upped my Clomid (clomiphene) to 100mg and ovulated but negative pregnancy test my periods are over 2 weeks late if I ovulated and not pregnant why no period yet?

Test wrong? This is a confusing situation for you. I would either not trust the ovulation test or the pregnancy test. If a blood pregnancy test is negative, then ask about an ultrasound before using medication to induce a period and restarting clomid (clomiphene). Read more...

Have 28 day cycle~on Clomid (clomiphene) days 3-7~now on day 32 of cycle ~no period negative pregnancy test? Did Clomid (clomiphene) change my cycle? Ovulated on day 14

Clomid (clomiphene) It is possible but you are taking Clomid (clomiphene) because you may have an ovulation problem. Not ovulating consistently could be the problem and that could cause you not to bleed monthly. If this continues, see your doctor to review your history and discuss testing that could help you find out why. Read more...

I took Clomid (clomiphene) on days 5-9. Pos. Opk on cd 23. 48 hrs later I spotted. On cd 41 now and no period and neg. Pregnancy test. Why didn't my period come?

Pregnant or no ovula. Opks are notoriously unreliable. If you truly ovulated your period will come almost exactly 14 days after ovulation, or you are pregnant. Try another test in a day or two, but more importantly, call the doctor that is treating your anovulation. I have my patients come in for luteal phase blood test because I do not rely on opks. No period for 8 weeks, negative pregnancy test and have not ovulated. Going on provera (medroxyprogesterone) and Clomid next week but just saw blood on sheets after sex. Y?

Unrelated to period. Disregard the postcoital bleeding, unless it persists. Take the prover as directed, then start the Clomid (clomiphene) on cycle day #3, if those were your instructions from your provider. Read more...
