In brief: Examination, Labs
Lupus has many faces.
It is a diagnosed by an appropriate examination - both history and physical, confirmatory laboratory tests that are done correctly by the laboratory. Lupus can have a variety of manifestations and we need to put them together to make the diagnosis. It is not simple and requires careful evaluation before the diagnosis is made. Lab is important and a poorly run lab:problem!
