In brief: Stilll swollen?
If it is still swollen or hot it amy only be partially open amd need to be drained by physician.
You can try hot compresses in interim to promote drainage.

In brief: Maybe
Simple abscesses can be drained and require no antibiotics.
Complex ones require drainage and antibiotics execially if recurrent.

The sovereign treatment for an abscess is draining the pus out of it.
If the abscess burst spontaneously and spread under the skin, it did not drain; the infection could easily get worse, not better. Let your doctor evaluate the situation and determine what treatment is necessary. Infections are not something you should watch and wait on.
