In brief: Remeron (mirtazapine) is OK

Prophylactic treatment of chronic tth is best accomplished with tricyclic antidepressants used as adjuvant analgesics and not for their antidepressant effects.
Antidepressants used for the management of chronic TTH include amitriptyline, nortriptyline, Remeron (mirtazapine) and Doxepin. SSRI such as fluoxetine may also be useful. Consult with headache or orofacial pain specialist.
