The waking can be related to the teething.
If usual comfort measures such as massaging gums, using frozen teething, or just cuddling and reassuring baby not working, you can use an appropriate dose of pain reliever such as tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen. Teething gels may provide very short term relief, but in general don't really help a lot
