I am always safe, should I still get tested for genital warts?

In brief: No
Despite condom use the viruses that cause genital warts can still be spread.
In females, pap smears test for most of the harmful viruses. In msm (men who have sex with men), "anal pap smears" can be done. Hpv, which is a vaccine, can help protect a person from contracting the most common viruses that give rise to genital warts and cervical cancer. Both males and females can get this vaccine.

If you are a female that is sexually active you should have a pelvic and pap smear regardless of how "safe" you are.
Hpv testing may be done at that time. You may not have any signs or symptoms, but you still may have hpv.

In brief: Yes
There is no good test for hpv virus in men short of looking at the penis for signs of warts.
Because genital warts spread through skin to skin contact, even with perfect condom use it is possible to spread hpv just by skin to skin rubbing. Age appropriate pap smears and hpv dna testing is still the gold standard in sexually active women.
