If dad is 5' 6", 200 lbs, the simple fact is that your child's weight percentile may always be higher. Sometimes the weight percentile is a little higher. The more important measurement is the bmi, or body mass index, which gives a much better predictor of obesity. Concentrate on a calorie appropriate, healthy diet with low carb snacks.
