I have pcos, and have been taking provera, (medroxyprogesterone) in order to take clomid. 10days after the last pill and still no period. Why?

Minimal endometrium. The lining of the womb (endometrium) has not responded to the Progesterone in provera (medroxyprogesterone). Either you are pregnant or there is a lack of estrogen priming of the endometrium. See your md who is giving you the Clomid and Provera (medroxyprogesterone) to find out whaat is the exact reason. Is it possible that you can get your period naturally even you have PCOS? Vaginal Brown discharge I have not taken Provera (medroxyprogesterone) in 2 mons.

It's possible. It is possible to have a spontaneous period, but much more difficult. We usually recommend the use of Provera (medroxyprogesterone) if no period in 3 months to decrease the risk of endometrial cancer from unopposed prolonged estrogen stimulation. PCOS patients usually have a higher rate of anovulation and therefore infertility and the use of ovulation induction meds are common to get pregnant. Read more...

Does provera (medroxyprogesterone) oral work for teenage girls that have pcos and have irregular periods?

Depends. Depends on what you are trying to treat. Provera (medroxyprogesterone) will regulate menses but will not have an effect on excessive hair growth or acne. Most women who are not trying to get pregnant will be treated with oral contraceptive pills as it treats more of the pcos symptoms then Provera (medroxyprogesterone) alone. I would recommend seeing a reproductive endocrinologist to go over all the possible treatment options. Read more...
