In brief: Displaced = moved
The word displaced means that a structure is moved from it's normal position.
Fractures can be displaced. Torn portions of meniscus can be displaced, meaning moved from its original position. A medial meniscus root can be displaced if it is torn, ie no longer tethered in the correct position.

In brief: COULD BE NORMAL
If you had surgery and they repaired the meniscus - it may look "displaced" on MRI - but that may be on purpose due to the surgical repair..
. I would discuss with orthopedist re; what did they do to your meniscus during surgery - could this be an "expected" finding - or "unexpected".

In brief: Meniscal root
A meniscal root which is the insertion of the meniscus on the bone can displace secondary to a tear. This usually requires and arthroscopic repair procedure.
