Esr is high, should I worry about it?

Non Specific Test. Esr (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) is a non specific test unless there is a certain diagnosis when you check ESR to track the improvement or deterioration. By itself it is not of much value. It can be high in any inflammation or infection, even a simple sore throat or common cold or flu. Routinely it is not checked in the office on routine blood work.
