Change what you use frequently: change your tampon every 4-6 hours & don't use overnight.
Change your napkin twice a day. Avoid super-absorbent tampons. Use the right tampon size (if you have to force the tampon inside you, it could scratch your vagina and let in toxins). Wash your hands. A lot. Toxic shock syndrome germs travel via your hands, so rub-a-dub-dub.
