In brief: Yes

Insect repellents containing deet (such as off!) do repel ticks.
How well a repellent works depends on the amount of deet on the person's clothing or skin, and on how complete the coverage is (whether or not the person missed some spots). Too much deet can be toxic to babies and small children. Clothing that has Permethrin impregnated into the fabric may also help prevent tick bites.

In brief: Maybe

If you use one that also protects against ticks, it should.
