Can HIV establish itself in the body if there was only 1 virus particle? I am just curious if there needs to be a decent amount of the virus or not.

In brief: HIV

Most pathogens have a minimal infective dose necessary to initiate infection.
Some only need a single organism to do this. Hiv is probably in this category but only in the laboratory. It would be exceptionally rare for you to be exposed only to a single virus in real life. Be very careful out there.
