My 2.5 y/o ran up to a 103 fever for 3 days. Now, 3 days later, she is exhausted, grouchy, and throwing horrible tantrums. Can this be a virus?

Pediatrics

In brief: MOST PROBABLY..VIRAL

Because of very cold weather in midwest, we are seeing a lot of kids having viral illnesses with: fever, cough, runny nose, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.
Influenza has also started. Make sure she drinks enough fluid and pees at least 4-5 times daily. Tylenol (acetaminophen) for fever 101 f or above, shower every day, keep her indoor. If any worsening, call her pediatrician's office.
