No a hamstring injury is a tear or partial tear of the hamstring muscle / tendon w/ resultant bleeding and mild swelling( mild bruising may be seen on back of thigh or below knee).
Cramping can occur secondary to the injury or can be related to metabolic reasons etc. See your physician. Best of luck!
