In brief: Pelvic congestion

Pelvic congestion and fluid retention which start premenstrually may cause some of your symptoms.
Ask your gynecologist if he or she will prescribe a mild diuretic several days before your period is due as this might ameliorate some of your discomfort. Take a potassium supplement with it however. If no diuretic use, restrict your salt intake premenstrually.
