Use of fat derived adult stem cells have produced pancreatic tissues in tissue culture, but not yet in living patients.
These stromal cells are capable of becoming a large variety of tissue types, and are found close to the microblood vessels through out body. The ability to "grow" solid tissues is considered within the next decade. At this point, injection therapy in animals is currently testg.
