I've got a swollen, painful thumb that locks at the first joint. How do I treat this?

Surgery - Hand Surgery

In brief: Trigger thumb

Initially ice, anti inflammatories and splinting should be tried.
If no response than steroid injection could be helpful if not than surgical release of the a1 pulley that is causing the locking.
