In brief: "strong" meaningless

Strength or potency of a medicine only relates to the size of the pill.
In equipotent doses, they do pretty much the same thing, although oxycodone gets to the brain more quickly and may have somewhat fewer side effects (flushing, nausea, itching) than oxycodone. 5 mg of oxycodone is equivalent to 7.5 mg of hydrocodone, but in those doses, they do pretty much the same thing for most people.
