Usually 24 hours. This depends upon how 'hot' you like your food. You can definitely warm up your food but don't eat it steaming hot. Two reasons: 1) you may still be numb and burn your gums 2) the hot food (especially liquids) can dissolve the blood clot and make you start to bleed again.
