Please explain reasons why whipple resection contraindicated with metastases?

No survival. Pancreas cancer has a poor prognosis. No survival noted if performed in the presence of metastatic disease. Use of chemotherapy such as gemcitabine and Abraxane give the best chance for prolonged survival in terms of months after diagnosis made. Only 10% or patients diagnosed with pancreatic head cancer are candidates for a whipple resection, and even here only 10% of patients are ned at 2 yrs.
