Acquired nystagmus from any cause (drug toxicity, brain stem disease, etc.
) can cause the sensation of a shaking of the vision. A neuro-ophthalmologist may be able to see the shaking, and test for other signs. This could be totally benign, but also might be a sign of a serious problem. Neurology/neuro-ophthalmology is the place to start.
