In brief: Teeth under the gums

Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars are usually the last teeth on either side of the upper and lower jaws, and the most common impacted teeth.
Impacted means there is something that is preventing the tooth from erupting into the mouth. The position of the developing tooth, size of the tooth, size of the jaws, and any tissue, bone or pathological problems (cysts) may prevent normal eruption.

In brief: Start at about 15

Wisdom teeth eruption can vary on ages, most likely around 15 years old.
Whether the wisdom teeth erupt properly is another matter. The teeth can no erupt at all (completely impacted- in bone, bone and tissue;) partially impacted- part way through the tissue or fully erupt. Many people are born these days without wisdom teeth. Should have your dentist monitor as you get to this age.
