I have heard rumours that putting toothpaste on pimples/acne will help get rid of them. Is this true?

In brief: No

Toothpaste will irritate the skin and possibly cause more problems!

In brief: Myth

Toothpaste on zits is a myth.
Do not use it. There are so many chemicals and additives in toothpaste that can be irritating on your skin. Keep the toothpaste for your teeth.

Don't know where this idiotic idea came from, but it seems to have taken legs. Dr Election, as usual, is absolutely correct.

In brief: NO

No as tp is acidic and may scar some sensitive skin types.
Tp is only used in the mouth. See your dermatologist to help cure your acne. There are simple solutions like not using a wash cloth more than once(better not at all), use towels once, wash your face with clean hands and soap and water, keep pores open and clean with bathing after exercise/a steam, don't smoke or use creams that clog pores.
