I have eye infection. Just like sore eyes with high fever, can I let her use tobramycin / dexamethasone ophthalmic drops. What to do?
No. I don't recommend treating others without consulting a doctor.
I had an eye infection, and my ophthalmologist prescribed both tobradex (tobramycin and dexamethasone) drops (both eyes) and ointment (affected eye). Is that an overkill?
Eye antibiotics. Your doctor prescribed 2 antibiotics for a reason, and would not have prescribed them if not necessary. I advise you to follow your doctor's instructions, especially with your history of high iop. If you are still concerned about the combination of the 2 antibiotics, call your doctor.
Must have been. Severe. Infections usually only need drops. Ointment is ok at night time but blurs the vision.
Probably not. Eyedrops are in liquid and are effective for 1-2 hours until your natural tear flow removes them. Ointment is a nice adjunct for nighttime use as it coats the eye for many hours and therefore is effective while you sleep and do not have to awaken at 3 am to put in another eyedrop.
I have yet another pseudomonas eye infection this year: four in total. Tobradex (tobramycin and dexamethasone) drops and 10 days of docycycline. Maybe it just never went away?
Need to see Eye MD. If you have had four documented and culture positive pseudomonas infections of one or both eyes, I will recommend you see an opthalmologist it is possible you have chronic conjunctivitis or recurring infection due to some underlying vcondition in your eye. So make an appt. With eye specialistmd.
I've got an eye infection in both eyes. Am using tobradex, (tobramycin and dexamethasone) but am I contagious?
Good treatment. Tobradex (tobramycin and dexamethasone) can be helpful although most bilateral eye infections are viral and that would not be affected by tobramicin. You are contagious as long as the eye is red or getting redder. When the redness starts to fade, then you are no longer shedding virus and infectivity then ends.
Had eye infection over a month used tobradex, (tobramycin and dexamethasone) n ofloxacin for 7 days n stopped. Saw eye dr 3 or 4 times. Repeat same process still have watery eyes?
Many things. If your tear production is adequate, and you're having these symptoms, it sounds like a reaction to inflammation occurring on the surface of the eye. Most common things include allergies and /or pollutants. Allergy drops will work for your allergies. Pollutants are a little bit more difficult. Some allergy drops will help with the symptoms, and artificial tears can help wash away some of this.
Had eye infection for 6 wk dr gives tobradex (tobramycin and dexamethasone) n ofloxacin for 7 days then I stop go back to dr n he says stay on ofloxacin still not healed?
Eye infection. Six weeks is a long time to have an eye infection including a viral conjunctivitis. See an eye doctor for other possible considerations.
