I'm a glaucoma patient and had a trabeculectomy done. Could I still get eye corrective surgery like lasik?
Theoretically, yes. But having had that type of surgery increases your risk of infection and some other complications and makes you less than an ideal candidate. Nevertheless, it's a good idea to have the eye examined by an experienced lasik surgeon. Your particular situation may be more or less amenable to lasik.
It's risky. During one of the steps in lasik, your eye pressure can become very high. This can cause damage to your already sensitive optic nerve. Also, the devices used during lasik surgery can damage the trabeculectomy surgery.
