Wondering if it's normal for a mastectomy to be done on an out patient basis?

Surgery

In brief: Normal

It is perfectly acceptable to have a mastectomy on an outpatient basis.
The patient needs to be healthy and have a responsible adult with them at home. We send people home the same days after procedures such as a cholecystectomy. You will have a drain but it is easy to manage. You will be more comfortable at home and sleep better.
