Inderal (propranolol) could be contributing to confusion in my 88 yr old mother. Is there a water-based beta blocker less apt to do so? Not metoprolol or atenolol..

In brief: Atenolol

Atenolol is the most hydrophilic (least lipophilic) of the betablockers, crossing the blood brain barrier less than any other. If your grandmother can't tolerate atenolol, then she can't be on any beta blocker at all.
