You also can have families which re-infect each other. Try the prescription shampoo/ lotion and be sure to have each of your family members and/or pets checked and treated as well. Wash all linens in hot water and even try having the rugs in the house steam cleaned. Lice can infect and re-infect a family, and in some cases an extreme cleaning is needed.
